Seattle, WA, United States (On-site)Contract (11 months 30 days)Published a day agoWe are looking for an Associate Metrology Calibration Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA for 1st or 2nd shift. As a calibration technician, you will have an important and exciting role in the company that includes calibration of various Measurement and Test Equipment, and development of procedures for test equipment. Boeing has diverse metrology parameters such as precision dimensional and optical, precision mass, temperature-humidity, pressure, flow and force. You will tackle new and meaningful problems every day, supporting military and commercial programs such as 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8, Tanker, and others.Metrology is the science of measurement and includes all theoretical and practical aspects of measurement. Metrology engineering covers the basic understanding of how measurement accuracy and precision impacts our ability to make repeatable and reproducible measurements throughout Boeing, as well as the importance of measurement traceability and the role calibration plays in establishing traceability.Position Responsibilities:Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements.Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems.Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities.Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post test tear-down.Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results.Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Experience working in a laboratory test environment.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification.Experience in the aerospace industry.1+ years of experience with Electrical, Flow, Force, Mass, Acceleration, Pressure, Linear Measurements, Temperature, Vacuum, and/or other Physical Metrology processes.1+ years of experience in a PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) back shop for the military.Experience with Labview, C++, and Access.Experience with electrical equipment calibration and/or testing laboratory.Experience using and configuring data acquisition units.Experience running and configuring automated hardware tests.Typical Education/Experience:AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
