Data Engineer (Bioinformatics)
with a biotech company in
Santa Clara, CA
who possesses:
B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology
1-2 years of industry experience in data science, data modeling, or data engineering fields
Experience in at least one programming language (Java or Python)
Experience working with relational databases and database management tools such as SQL
FULL DESCRIPTION
:
Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic data engineer to join our integration team to analyze signals and present results from our diagnostic technology.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Developing code to extract key information from raw data collected from instruments
Automating entry of metadata and key metrics/results by organizing it all in a database
Providing query methods so any member of the company can easily access, filter, and visualize the information stored in the database
Interpreting and relaying trends over time through data visualization tools and dashboards
Managing the bioinformatics pipeline and working with the development team.
The selected candidate will also possess:
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, math, statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field AND 1+ years of industry experience in data science, data modeling, or data engineering fields
Experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java)
Experience working with relational databases and database management tools such as SQL
Experience in the analysis of signals from analytical instruments
Experience developing web apps through Python and/or JavaScript/HTML frameworks (Django, Flask, Vue, Angular, etc.)
Familiarity with data visualization and dashboard tools (Tableau, Power BI, Dash, or similar)
Salary Range:
$90k-$130k/yr
