Medical Technologist I

performs accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical pathology testing of veterinary specimens to support the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and monitoring of disease. Testing methods include the areas of hematology, chemistry, cytology, immunology, and urinalysis. This role adheres to the standards set forth by AAVLD, GLP, and ISO 17025, as well as the organizational quality management system's policies and procedures.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Biological Science, Animal Science, Medical Laboratory Science or other related discipline and up to two years working in a laboratory setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficient with standard software, with the ability to learn new software quickly.Excellent self-management practices to successfully oversee and organize competing priorities to meet deadlines.Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with tact and discretion.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with results and instrumentation.Must be self-motivated and willing to take initiative to continue learning.Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time at benches, workstations or while using laboratory equipment.Preferred QualificationsAmerican Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.Experience working in an organization with an established quality assurance program.Successful work experience in a fast-paced, complex, client-oriented environment.Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.Important Details about the PositionThis is an onsite position located in Ithaca, NY.This is a full-time three-year term position with potential for extension contingent upon funding and performance.We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship, now or in the future, for this position.Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.The Following Documents are Required to be Submitted with your ApplicationResumeCover LetterWhat We Offer :Great benefits!
