Kearney & Company is currently seeking a Federal USSGL Senior Consultant to join our team! The Senior Consultant will help develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction, demonstrate proficiency with accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply them to client situations, as well as identify and effectively communicate accounting matters to leadership. Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below:Support client audit readiness efforts in accordance with GAAP and FASABDraft accounting research papers, standard operating procedures, and USSGL ToolsImplement technical solutions to improve financial management activitiesWork with clients to identify financial control issues and gapsIdentify opportunities for efficiencies in work process and innovative approaches to completing scope of workParticipate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issuesMaintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work productsLead all research, analysis and communication regarding accounting treatment / posting logicMaintaining relationships and communicating with key client personnel to understand business operations, processes, and functionsMentor and coach junior staffAssist in proposal development, as requested

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Technology/Systems, Business, Finance or another Business-related fieldMinimum of 6 years of accounting, financial statement audit, audit remediation, and/or financial management experienceIn-depth knowledge of the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) and United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL) - including proprietary and budgetary account definitions and tie-point relationships and crosswalks to relevant financial statements, footnotes and reportsKnowledge of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Boards (FASAB) StandardsAbility to serve as a project manager and lead/interact with clients, including the development of project strategies, project plans/execution oversight, and manage a teamDemonstrate awareness and knowledge of Federal Government's financial and management responsibilitiesConsulting experience in any of the following areas: business process improvement, financial management policies and procedures, and/or financial system integrations, etc.Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPointAbility to obtain and maintain agency suitability (Public Trust)Preferred:Active Public Trust (or higher) security clearanceActive DHS clearance and/or expertiseFamiliarity with Oracle/SAP/Momentum financial systemsFamiliarity with Federal financial system modernization, data quality/data cleansing/data standardization effortsFamiliarity with Federal financial reporting requirementsCPA, CGFM or other relevant certification

This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
