The role requires the ability to perform independent research related to the sustainability of beef cattle systems, specifically focusing on enteric methane emissions. PhD experience is required, including knowledge of experimental design and data analysis across livestock systems. Organizational skills, personnel supervision, and capabilities in producer outreach and engagement are necessary.Required Job Qualifications

PhD in Animal Science or related fields completed by start dateDemonstrated success in publishingExperience with data analysisExperience with beef cattle systems and greenhouse gas emissionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience in leading projects through to publicationExperience with project and team managementMust have a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one by start dateAbility to travel primarily statewide and nationallyLegally authorized to work in the United States by proposed start datePreferred Job Qualifications

Publication record in peer-reviewed journalsExperience with analytical methods related to cattle nutrition and metabolism and/or environmental assessmentsDiversity Statement

Research

Design and execute experiments and analysis as identified through AgNext.Projects will focus on enhancing sustainability of beef cattle systems.Project Management

Lead project meetings, plan manuscripts, manage and mentor students, and communicate project timelines and results.Educational Activities

Prepare manuscripts and contribute to educational activities that provide research findings about sustainable beef cattle production.Special Instructions to Applicants
