Your Role

CalPERS Sector: CalPERS represents the largest public employer purchaser of health benefits in California and the second largest employer purchaser in the nation after the federal government. The Finance Analytics/Program Management Support team supports the CalPERS Account Management team by generating invoices, reports and supporting enhancements, mandates, and strategic initiatives.Providing analysis and solutions to inefficiencies that impeded our performance and the quality of output. The Business Analyst, Seniorwill report to the Manager, Finance Analytics . In this role you will work independently or collaborate on assignments that support the CalPERS contract deliverables .

Your Work

In this role, you will:

Process, generate, and submit weekly Invoices and invoice exceptions within required deadlinesExtract, compile, and analyze data to generate ad-hoc reports using SQLResearch and submit monthly Milliman file failure Exception RequestsMaintain logs for invoice file submissions, audit requests, and data file submissions and exception requestsAbility to communicate analytical results to a variety of both technical and non-technical audiencesResearch client audit requests, provide findings and corrective actionsWork with programmers and vendors to meet critical deadlinesDevelop and maintain Desk Level Procedures (DLPs) for business processesSupport the facilitation of meetings when necessaryIdentify opportunities for workflow improvements and efficiencyHelp retain and growth CalPERS membershipActively partner with CalPERS Sector members and other cross-functional teamsCustomer focused with a relentless commitment to high quality work and resultsProvide written detail analysis and recommendation to resolve issuesHighly organized and self-directed approach to workAct with a high level of integrity and to be emblematic of our valuesHelp establish a strong foundational level of trust between CalPERS and Blue Shield and the State Controller’s OfficeHelp the organization fulfill our mission

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceRequires at least 5 years of prior relevant experienceRequires ability to use MS Office, esp. Excel and Access, SQL/PL-SQL with minimal supervision and supportProficient in ExcelBe comfortable working with large data setsInspired to learn other technical skillsHave intellectual curiosity, fast learner, be a self-starterStrong analytics skills, strong problem-solving skillsDesires strong communication skills

Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $77,990.00 to $116,930.00 for California.

Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
