Trauma Critical Care Surgeon

Position with Desert Trauma Surgeons, Inc., a physician-owned, private-practice medical group providing Acute Care Surgery services to two Level II Trauma Centers in south Los Angeles County: St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, CA, and St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. The group is a shared Trauma/ICU/ACS/General Surgery practice comprised of over 25 surgeons, a fully staffed NP service, and ER medical students from the California University of Science and St. George’s University. SFMC is an ACS Level II Trauma Center and participates in the Los Angeles County Trauma System. SFMC is a 384-bed acute care hospital that treats over 80,000 emergencies and 2,000 trauma injuries annually and is approved by the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency as a Primary Stroke Care Center and a STEMI Receiving Center.

Work requirements are sixteen (16) twelve-hour shifts per month, with the opportunity for additional shifts/overtime pay if desired.

Applicant Requirements:MD or DO and must be certified by the American Board of Surgery. The ideal candidate will be Board-Certified in Surgical Critical Care. We are looking for highly motivated candidates who have excellent communication skills and are goal-oriented. This position calls for someone with a strong commitment to education for residents and fellows as well as strong leadership skills.
