STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I

Under general direction of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer, and Staff Services Manager II and Chief of the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) is responsible for the Department's internal EEO program and external Civil Rights Compliance program. This includes assisting with program planning, design, implementation, evaluation, and enforcement of department-wide extremely sensitive and complex activities as mandated by both federal and state laws and implementing regulations, executive orders, rules, policies, and procedures. Personally handles the most complex and sensitive assignments and investigates EEO Complaints. This position requires the incumbent to have excellent writing skills; to be an attentive listener; exercise sound judgment; engage in problem solving and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Creates OCR announcements and memos, including Diversity Equity and Inclusion. May act as back-up for the EEO Manager, or EEO Officer.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. Working Conditions

Eligible for telework in accordance with CDIs Telework policy. Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants must reside in California. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.

Occasional travel may be required within and/or outside the State of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, bus, train etc.) Travel may include overnight stay(s).
