Job Profile
The bank is seeking a
Principal Associate (Finance Risk Management)
who will
play a key role in supporting FRM in executing robust and proactive risk management programs , influencing key stakeholders, and enabling a strong culture of risk management.
Require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work autonomously, identify areas of opportunity, and manage changing priorities.
Supports Finance business teams by applying risk and control standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory and Enterprise requirements, aligning the organization with leading practices, and cultivating an environment of strong risk management.
Primarily focus on supporting Corporate and local Finance teams in Capital One’s core technology modernization initiatives, including centrally managing FRM’s engagement model in related projects.

Bachelor’s Degree
or military experience
Work Experience
At least 3 years of risk management, regulatory compliance, audit, accounting, or a combination
At least 3 years of experience working in Financial Services
Duties/Responsibilities
Build and leverage productive relationships with Finance department stakeholders to promote a strong operationally resilient posture and act as a change agent.
Centrally coordinate and implement Finance Risk Management’s program management engagement model for core technology modernization initiatives.
Communicate with and influence leadership on key process risks and actions needed.
Drive risk management initiatives to completion and execute roadmaps that deliver improved risk management practices, working with stakeholders to solve complex problems under tight deadlines.
Lead FRM’s engagement activities on process-level assessments, internal audits, and regulatory commitments for assigned areas.
Manage work across organizational lines to address competing priorities and achieve results.
Proactively understand the business area’s current risk profile and be able to identify strategic and emerging risks.
Promote proactive risk management initiatives to reduce the residual risk within the business.
Provides regular and open communication for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments.
Stays current on understanding effective risk management, process, and control effectiveness strategies.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Strong problem-solving, integrative thinking, judgment, and communication skills.
Building partnerships with multiple business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of project management experience.
5 or more years of experience in an audit-related field, first or second-line risk management, accounting, or business process and control advisory.
5 or more years of experience in risk management or regulatory compliance, preferably in the financial services sector.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor.
PMP or Agile certification.
