Job descriptionWe are looking for a Construction Accountant to join our team! Your day to day duties will include processing construction/predevelopment draws, review draw funding, assist with monthly and yearly reconciliations, assist with the yearly audit process. Your responsibilities will be but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
Project job cost accounting, including preparation and recording of monthly owner and contractor draws; collection and recording of payments.
Enter invoices into Sage 300 CRE (Timberline)
Using Textura, upload and track subcontractor invoices, payments, and lien releases.
Review and track preliminary lien notices, liens filed, conditional and unconditional lien releases.
Review and obtain proper documentation for all subcontractor invoices for multiple projects; ensure compliance with paperwork requirements
Process subcontractor payments by checks and credit cards
Filing, copying and compiling documents
Maintain general ledger including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing and reconciling subsidiary ledgers to trial balance
Assist in cash accounting month-end and year-end close ensuring detailed and accurate reconciliations are documented for all balance sheet and income statement accounts, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Assisting with project audits.
Maintain project related accounting files.
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws
Daily interface with field & subcontractor personnel
Other special projects as needed
Qualifications
Accounting Degree (BS in Accounting preferred) or equivalent
5 plus years of progressive accounting experience in real estate and/or construction industry
Basic knowledge of construction accounting
Experience with SAGE 300 CRE (Timberline) a plus
Experience with Textura a plus
Knowledge of prevailing wage/certified payroll review & reporting a plus
Detail-oriented and needs to have a sense of urgency
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
