Its network includes approximately 60,000 leisure travel advisors and gig economy workers, 500+ airlines, and over one million hotels and vacation rentals, 30K rental car pickup locations, 50+ cruise lines.About the RoleThe Vice President of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting is responsible for managing the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including but not limited to Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, as well as ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. This role involves managing complex technical accounting research, analysis, and implementation of new accounting standards. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams across the organization.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and other required filings.Ensure timely and accurate submission of all SEC reports.Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support the review and audit of financial statements and related disclosures.Stay updated on SEC rules and regulations to ensure compliance in all filings.Research and interpret new and existing accounting standards (GAAP, SEC regulations) and assess their impact on the company’s financial statements.Provide guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, and stock-based compensation.Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards, including drafting technical memos and coordinating with cross-functional teams.Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnotes and disclosures.Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.Coordinate with other departments, including legal, investor relations, and treasury, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.Maintain and enhance internal control processes over financial reporting, including SOX compliance.Work with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure adherence to control requirements.Assist in identifying and mitigating financial risks.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred. CPA certification is required. Experience in a public accounting firm or in a publicly traded company.Required Skills10+ years of experience in accounting, managing a team of SEC reporting and technical accounting professionals.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and financial reporting requirements.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting issues to non-accountants.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.High attention to detail and accuracy.Experience with financial systems.Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.Preferred SkillsExperience in a public accounting firm or in a publicly traded company.Equal Opportunity StatementInclude a statement on commitment to diversity and inclusivity.Qualified candidates please send your resume to roger@chiefpeople.com.
