The Maryland Food Bank (MFB)

is a nonprofit hunger-relief organization dedicated to feeding people, strengthening communities, and ending hunger for more Marylanders by partnering with local organizations from the western mountains to the Eastern Shore. The food bank’s statewide network of food assistance brings enough resources together to provide nearly 114,000 meals every day (more than 41 million meals annually) to hungry children, seniors, veterans, and hard-working families, meeting the immediate needs of hungry Marylanders while simultaneously working to create pathways out of hunger.The Maryland Food Bank embraces a philosophy that recognizes and values diversity. MFB seeks an experienced grantmaking professional to lead and enhance the partner grants program. The program was expanded in 2022 to strengthen Maryland's food assistance safety net and address underlying causes of hunger. The Manager, Partner Grantmaking will unify grant channels into a cohesive program aligned with MFB's strategic goals, assess program impact, oversee daily operations, and pursue external funding opportunities. This role aims to improve grant effectiveness and support MFB's mission to combat hunger in Maryland.Primary Responsibilities

Develop communication plans, support grantees, and organize internal review processesManage software, support partners, process payments, troubleshoot, and administer grantsProvide technical support and guidance for MFB and other funding opportunitiesContribute to program evaluation methodologies to assess and improve MFB’s community investmentsPartner with the Philanthropy team to raise funds and steward external funders to support this workEducation & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldAt least five (5) years of experience in grantmaking and project managementBasic Qualifications

Strong ability to learn applications quickly (grant management software)High proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Strategic thinker, with the ability to work in ambiguitySuperior oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals, groups, and organizationsAbility to leverage data to guide grantmaking for impactful results in complex projectsPreferred Qualifications

Experience in a foundation setting3+ years of major gift fundraising experience and familiarityAn understanding of the Maryland region and familiarity with Maryland’s philanthropic landscapeExperience developing or leading granting processesExperience in grant management software (SurveyMonkey Apply)The Community Programs team at the Maryland Food Bank (MFB) is focused on working with and through our statewide distribution partners to build capacity and develop community-based solutions to the problem of food insecurity. We are looking for a new addition to our team that is dedicated to the mission of ending hunger for Marylanders and interested in supporting the valuable work of the food bank. A successful candidate will be goal-oriented, a strategic thinker, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. $67,000 - $72,000Work Environment
