Director of Nursing

Overview of the Position:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for supervising nursing functions and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for clients detoxifying from substance dependency. The Director shall oversee the direction, provision, and quality of nursing services provided to clients.

Primary Tasks:

Providing administrative oversight of the facility's nursing services and supervising the nursing staff.

Assisting the Executive Director in developing and maintaining objectives, policies, and procedures related to nursing services.

Planning and budgeting for nursing services in conjunction with the Executive Director.

Ensuring the coordination and integration of nursing services with other client care services.

Ensuring compliance with required nursing and staffing patterns.

Assisting in developing job descriptions for nursing staff and assigning duties.

Participating in staff orientation and education activities.

Providing required documentation in client records.

Maintaining records of medications administered and self-administered by clients.

Performing efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols.

Promoting BriteLife Recovery Hilton Head to prospective clients/employees.

Requirements:

Job Type: Full Time

Current Registered Professional Nurse in good standing in South Carolina.

At least one year of experience in nursing supervision or administration.

Demonstrated computer proficiency.

Qualifications:

One year full-time experience managing addictions in a licensed treatment facility.

For facilities providing detoxification services, one year of supervisory experience or three years in an opioid treatment facility.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.

Demonstrated customer service skills.

Ability to assess needs and deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance abuse.

Ability to screen for substance toxicity and withdrawal symptoms.

Ability to analyze and interpret data for nursing recommendations.

Adherence to ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.

Participation in continuing Professional Development.

Knowledge of strategies for treating substance abuse.

Ability to educate individuals and groups concerning substance abuse.

Knowledge of client record management principles.

Ability to supervise staff nurses in a detox facility.
