The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center is seeking a Senior Controller to join our team. This position is a terrific opportunity for someone to gain additional experience and make a difference in the lives of our clients.
For over forty-five years, our organization has provided mental health and holistic services in northern Manhattan for families, children, adolescents, and other adults including the elderly in a supportive and caring environment. We also have an out-patient and residential substance abuse program as well as a Therapeutic Preschool for 3-5 year olds.
Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center is a Certified National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Senior Controller
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees and directs budgeting, purchasing, and cash management for the organization.
Evaluates the organization's financial position on financial stability & liquidity.
Assures implementation of internal controls and generally accepted accounting procedures.
Oversees and directs the finance department (AR, Billing, Payroll, Grants & accounting).
Supervises the analysis of costs and makes rate recommendations to ensure appropriate income/cash flow.
Manage all financial audit activities.
Supervise the finance department day-to-day transactions.
Financial Management
Present all financial reports, including monthly and annual statements.
Prepare all financial, program and grants accounting.
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, prepare all analysis.
Clearly present all financial matters to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, required.
8 - 10 years of experience in financial/accounting management.
Experience in health care financial management a plus.
Experience in Non-For-Profit preferred.
Experience with IRS 990.
Experience with Forms CHAR 500 & 5500.
Experience in behavioral health field a plus.
Experience completing CFR.
