Job Responsibilities

The Development Director will strategically lead the expansion of Spartanburg Community College Foundation's annual giving program and the development of an alumni engagement strategy that connects donors and alumni to Spartanburg Community College supporting the SCC Foundation and College community.

- ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM- Develop annual giving program based on clear goals, strategic plans to significantly increase the base of annual gifts, building a leadership annual giving portfolio of donors and corporate partners, faculty and staff giving campaign, alumni giving, create and manages multichannel fundraising efforts (print, digital, and social media) that support donor retention, renewal, and acquisition of donors fashion novel donor experiences, event -sponsorships as well as manage current and new fundraising events that generate a strong return on investment.

- ALUMNI ENGAGMENT-Develop strategic alumni engagement initiatives to connect alumni to the college and their areas of study through communications, reunions, fundraisers, career-focused networking, and building alumni group(s) that provide value to alumni and result in increased giving.

- COMMUNICATION AND EVENT PLANNING- Design and implement an annual stewardship calendar of events and activities to engage donors and prospects to grow affinity to the college and foundation including annual scholarship donor gatherings, leadership donor gatherings, multi-channel touchpoints to sustain relationships with donors or groups of donors such as first-time donor, life event, and birthday recognitions and giving societies.

- DATA UTILIZATION - Utilize and leverage technology to manage, track, report, as well as assess Annual Fund donors' giving history and philanthropic capacity to create and build a pipeline between annual, major, and planned giving and stay current on annual giving best practices and maximize the use of data and other resources to make strategic recommendations and implementations.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree and related experience in an area such as alumni development, fundraising, prospect research, or business development.Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field and 5 or more years of experience working in Advancement/Development for higher education or a nonprofit. This experience may be substituted with equivalent or similar experience in another relevant work environment. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, and/or other fundraising databases.Additional Comments
