This Lead Teacher/ARD Facilitator position is located in Houston, Texas at the University of Texas-University Charter School. The Lead Teacher will provide one-on-one and small group specialized instruction to students in special education and Homebound instructional services. All services are provided on site at the Nexus Children’s Hospital in Houston. This is a dual role and provides ARD Facilitator support. This is a year-round (10 months, 194 days) position from August 1st to May 31. Salary is spread over 12 months.Purpose:

To serve as a classroom teacher/ARD Facilitator.Responsibilities:Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.Effectively plan and use appropriate instructional interventions, strategies, activities, materials, and equipment to add educational value for each student.Comply with UT-UCS curriculum standards and all relevant policies and procedures. Implement each student's IEP and 504 accommodations as stated.Establish and maintain open communication with the principal, professional support personnel, teachers, facility staff, parents, and students.Manage student behavior effectively and in accordance with the treatment plan, the Student Code of Conduct, and the student handbook.Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning. Utilize data effectively to inform instruction.Participate in faculty meetings, committee meetings, and staff development as required.Required Qualifications:

Valid Texas Special Education EC-12 teaching certification. Knowledge of assigned subject or subjects. Understanding of TEKS and the curriculum standards of the State of Texas. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a non-traditional school setting with special needs students. Proficiency in technology applications. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. This position requires fingerprinting.Preferred Qualifications:

Valid Texas ESL certification and at least 1 year of experience as an Admission, Review, Dismissal Facilitator.Salary Range:

$65,000 + depending on qualifications.Working Conditions:
