Cloud Solution Architect
This individual will be part of the Cloud Security Consulting team and become the center of excellence for specific Cloud Security technology areas and associated Fortinet products/solutions. They will need to be comfortable in front of customers of all levels and be able to deliver paid consulting services and proof of concepts. Ideal candidates will have excellent knowledge of public and/or private cloud technologies, software development experience, network/application security expertise and support four main areas of responsibility:
Cloud Security Solution Expert, Trusted Advisor, Continuous Learner, and Evangelist.
1) Cloud Security Solution ExpertAssist customers with creating multi-cloud and hybrid cloud security blueprints with a focus on vendor-neutral and cloud-agnostic design and implementation best practicesBecome an expert in Fortinet products within cloud solutionsMaintain knowledge of competitive products and servicesRespond to industry analyst inquiries and conduct demos
2) Trusted AdvisorAttend customer meetings and provide expert opinion on cloud security design/architectureProvide custom architecture and automation code, as per the requirements set by a given customer for their cloud deploymentsPublish reference architectures for specific use cases
3) Continuous LearnerDedicate a percentage of their time to ongoing training/education for new technologiesHelp drive technical webinars and hands-on demosHelp the NSE institute with advanced course materialsHelp training teams at SE Training events
4) EvangelistPublish public information, such as whitepapers and blogs around salient technology topicsDraft architecture papers for in-depth analysis and reasoning for technology adoptionContinuous active networking within the industry to build relationships and awareness
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in roles such as SE, Consulting SE, or Solution Architect in the Networking, Infrastructure, and/or Cybersecurity industriesIn-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more of the following public/private cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, NSXProficiency in modern software architecture using CI/CD, DevOps tools (Ansible / CloudFormation / Azure ARM), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Scalability, and API-first strategyWorking knowledge of Python, Java and/or other programming languagesCloud certifications such as AWS Solution Architect and GCP Cloud Architect are desiredPrior experience in designing and building applications using Container and server-less technologies is preferredExcellent presentation and demo skillsSuperior documentation and technical writing capabilitiesThree or more years of experience with cloud solutions, virtual platforms, and software developmentComfortable in public speaking
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Graduate Degree favorable

On target earnings for this position is expected to be $200,000 - $240,000 per year. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, and this position is also eligible for commissions based on the terms of the Sales Compensation Plan.
