Job Details

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and process invoices for goods and services received.
  • Ensure all invoices are properly coded, authorized, and entered into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Monitor discount opportunities and ensure optimal use of available discounts.
  • Maintain and update vendor files, including contact information and payment terms.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
  • Reconcile monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Assist with month-end closing, including preparation of accounts payable reports and journal entries.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in accounts payable.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
