We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Specialist to join our dynamic team within the Manufacturing industry. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of EHS regulations and a passion for promoting a safe and healthy work environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  3. Provide training and education to employees on safety practices, procedures, and regulations to foster a culture of safety within the organization.
  4. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  5. Manage and maintain EHS records and documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets.
  6. Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company during EHS audits and inspections.
  7. Collaborate with management and employees to identify and address EHS concerns and continuously improve the EHS performance of the organization.
  8. Stay current with changes in EHS regulations and industry best practices and implement necessary changes to the company’s EHS programs.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and guidelines, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant agencies.
  4. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is preferred.
  5. Proven experience in conducting safety audits and inspections, incident investigation, and risk assessments.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety matters.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address EHS issues proactively.
  10. Commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
