Job Details

Overview:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities during the 3rd shift. This role focuses on executing the maintenance process, fostering a reliability-driven approach, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The position provides leadership, first-line supervision, technical support, and training to a team of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians. It is also responsible for achieving unit goals and objectives, supervising assigned personnel, and overseeing daily operations on their assigned shift. The duties are carried out with considerable autonomy within the framework of established policies, procedures, and guidelines, with performance and results reviewed through inspections, analysis of records, reports, completed work orders, and equipment performance. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Shift Information:

  • 3rd Shift: 5 days/8-hour shifts
  • Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a safety-focused culture and implement workplace policies.
  • Build strong relationships with hourly team members, union representatives, and management.
  • Ensure technicians submit completed work orders daily, including actual hours and completion comments.
  • Track, analyze, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, asset utilization, maintenance costs, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Planners to scope corrective work orders as needed.
  • Manage and develop weekly schedules for shift technicians, prioritizing emergency tasks as they arise.
  • Evaluate team member performance and encourage continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • An associate degree in Engineering, Electro-Mechanical, or Business Management is preferred, though significant experience and specialized training may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a skilled role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader position.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facilities equipment, with the ability to read and interpret technical prints across all areas.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the functionality of equipment in areas such as stamping, automated fabrication, machining, and painting.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong teaming and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and capable of inspiring a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively.
  • Special qualifications include the ability to supervise a diverse team and direct a technical workforce to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly facility. Must be flexible to adjust to changing schedules and adaptable to evolving technologies, driving new ideas forward.
