Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 per year

They are seeking a Controller who is looking to grow within an organization and who will spearhead the entire accounting / finance department.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and board reports

• Complete month-end and year-end close processes

• Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports

• Lead relationships with outsourced accounting firms

• Research technical accounting issues for compliance

• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting

• Partner with payroll admin for compliance and accurate forecasts

• Oversee processing of payables, receivables, and daily transactions

• Manage company funds and maintain adequate bank balances

• Provide cash flow management and periodic reports to management and the board

• Comply with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings

• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports for executives and project managers

• Measure task strategies, efficiency, and project performance for improvements

• Perform additional tasks as required by leadership or the board

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of accounting and finance experience

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to prepare and understand detailed financial analyses

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance

• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures

• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes

• Skilled in creating financial statements and reports for board meetings

• Proficiency in accounting software, Excel, and Google Sheets

• CPA preferred

• Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry preferred

• Basic understanding of HR and compliance is a plus
