As a Permanent Process Engineer in our dynamic manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in the development, planning, and implementation of complex manufacturing processes. You will be a part of a team that ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations, with a focus on film manufacturing, flexographic printing, and bag making/converting processes. This role is best suited for a proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the manufacturing process and equipment.
- Use process simulation software and statistical analysis tools to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that manufacturing processes align with the organization's business objectives and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including SQF.
- Implement strategies for waste reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Utilize ERP software, specifically Epicor, for process management and data analysis.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the safety and efficiency of manufacturing operations.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on new processes and equipment.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics film production.
- In-depth knowledge of film manufacturing, flexographic printing, and bag making/converting processes.
- Proficiency in using process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
- Familiarity with SQF and ERP software, specifically Epicor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
