As a Tax Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all aspects of corporate and indirect taxation, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns and reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Conducting detailed tax research and analysis to provide expert advice on tax-related matters.
- Developing and implementing effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability.
- Providing tax advisory services to internal departments and external clients, assisting with tax planning and risk management.
- Liaising with tax authorities and external auditors, representing the company in any tax audits or disputes.
- Staying updated with the latest changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company's tax policies and procedures are up-to-date.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborating with other departments, providing expert tax advice to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Tax Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is highly desirable.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or similar role within the finance industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax, indirect taxation, tax accounting, and tax law.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns and conducting detailed tax research.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience in leading and developing a team of tax professionals.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal departments, external clients, and tax authorities.
- Proficiency in tax software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- A proactive approach with a strong focus on accuracy, detail, and organization.
