Job Details:

We are currently seeking a seasoned Sr. Attorney/Of Counsel with a strong focus in Municipal Law to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide array of legal issues related to municipal governance, operations, and administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal landscape surrounding public and private entities, municipalities, code enforcement, city codes, and civil litigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel to municipalities and other public entities on a broad range of issues including governance, administration, operations, and litigation.
  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters related to municipal law.
  • Interpret and apply city codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Handle code enforcement matters, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting investigations, and representing clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the resolution of complex legal issues.
  • Provide training to clients and staff on legal issues related to municipal law.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to municipal law.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Minimum of 8-10+ years of experience in municipal law, including experience with private entities, public entities, municipalities, code enforcement, city codes, and civil litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues and provide effective legal counsel.
  • Strong litigation skills, including experience in civil litigation.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Commitment to serving the public and advancing the public interest.
