Job Details

A leading national home builder is seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction Operations to oversee all aspects of our construction activities across multiple regions. This key leadership role will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring quality standards, and maximizing efficiency in our home building processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize construction operations across all regions
  • Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with other departments including land acquisition, sales, and customer service
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and local regulatory agencies
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement process improvements to increase productivity
  • Lead and mentor regional construction managers and project teams
  • Stay current on industry trends, new building technologies, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in residential construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale home building operations
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and industry regulations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Skills:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience with sustainable building practices and energy-efficient construction
  • Knowledge of lean construction principles and continuous improvement methodologies
