Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 per year

A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic attorney for our client's growing firm in southwest Houston! The firm specializes in offering public finance and bond counsel services for a diverse mix of commercial and residential developers, public entities, and school districts for essential public infrastructure projects across Texas.

This position has a minimum requirement of two years experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm setting, preferably working with Texas Water Districts, government entities, or real estate developers. Attorneys with an outgoing personality and business development/retention skillsets are encouraged to apply. Previous transactional experience is strongly preferred.

The incoming attorney will represent municipal utility and special purpose districts as general and/or bond counsel in an engaging role that includes significant client interaction and relationship development opportunities. Golf, hunting, and fishing trips are a common occurrence with clients that include state government officials. commercial and residential real estate developers, and government entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Board meeting preparation, attendance, and post-meeting follow up
  • Provide direct support to local and state governmental bodies to negotiate development agreements, ensure compliance, manage elections, facilitate bond sales, and oversee construction projects and

district creation

  • Draft, review, and amend documents including contracts, resolutions, orders, and public infrastructure related real estate conveyances, and documents related to issuance of public bonds.
  • Review construction contracts, including bonds and insurance provisions
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations

Job Details

2+ years of prior legal experience is required for consideration. We strongly prefer candidates with a transactional foundation and strong interpersonal and public speaking skills to work directly with clients. All candidates must currently live in Houston, be admitted to the State Bar of Texas, and have a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school.
