We are currently looking for a
Principal Orbit Analyst/Product Developer
for our Lanham, MD
or
Colorado Springs, CO office who is responsible for performing software development for a flight dynamics software product as well as performing orbit analysis and providing satellite mission engineering support.
Primary functions:
Perform orbit database development for use in COTS flight dynamics products
Analyze customer requirements to identify unmet requirements, including with respect to proposal efforts
Design and develop COTS product enhancements as required to satisfy customer requirements and appeal to the marketplace
Interface with users of COTS flight dynamics product and solve reported issues
Support both internal and external users of COTS Flight Dynamics product
Travel to customer locations for reviews, installation, and testing of COTS products (2-4 weeks per year total is nominal)
Experience and Skills:
Extensive knowledge of the flight dynamics process for orbital spacecraft
Experience designing complex software systems
Experience coding in C, C++ or similar language
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with day-to-day operations of a satellite
Experience with a configuration management system such as Git or Subversion
