Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review grant budgets, ensuring financial alignment with organizational goals. Track, monitor, and report on expenditures to ensure proper utilization of funds and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Generate accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, performing regular reconciliations of grant accounts. Identify variances between project budgets and actuals, providing solutions to financial challenges.
  • Monitor grants and contracts to ensure compliance with financial guidelines, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations. Assist in managing sub-recipient relationships, ensuring adherence to reporting and performance standards.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and finance departments to streamline grant accounting processes, provide training, and identify opportunities for improving financial efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting, budgeting, and financial management, preferably in a nonprofit or government-funded setting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and grant compliance
  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar tools)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities and experience collaborating across departments
