Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Lab Technician (MLT) performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding waived and moderately complex procedures as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in one or more of the MLT disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgement. Communicates technical or general information to Clinical Lab Scientist(s), manager, director, and medical staff. Provides a variety of clerical, physical and quality assurance functions. Evaluates and processes patient specimens as needed for job assignment as follows through with problems and issues regarding quality of samples.Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the laboratory mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation, quality control requirements, and preventative maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceAssociate of Arts or Baccalaureate Degree in medical technology or related science required.License RequiredMust meet and maintain current State of California licensure requirements for Medical Laboratory Technician.About HoagHoag is a nonprofit, regional healthcare delivery system in Orange County, California.
