Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists the Director of Human Resources in employee relations, hiring, onboarding. Maintains all training records for production employees .

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Review resumes, coordinate and conduct interviews, onboard all employees.

•Utilize the HRIS to manage employee information, benefits, leaves, and absences

•Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications

•Participate in departmental and safety meetings

•Assist in fostering positive employee relations by being a visible presence on the production floor

•Assist in planning employee events

•Complete Union Payroll

•Maintain OSHA Log

•Administer all workers compensation related incidents

•Issue union reprimands when necessary

•Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records

•Work with the management team to make decisions regarding efficiency and potential impacts on the company

•Maintains confidentiality in all corporate and related company matters

•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

•Complies with all Corporate Policies and Procedures

Requirements

•Good understanding of employment law and basic Human Resource practices.

•Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

•SHRM-CP preferred

•1-3 Years of experience in Human Resources, or related role

•Experience working in a Union Environment

•Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization

•Strong attention to detail and accuracy

•Excellent organizational and time management skills, requiring little supervision, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)

•Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
