Ongoing Part time – 8 hours per fortnightAvailable nowAn exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Geriatrician to join the Medical Services team at Portland District Health.The primary role is to provide medical care to patients as a geriatrician while sharing responsibility with the team across acute, sub-acute and aged care and working effectively to continuously improve and develop the service.About you:A tertiary qualification, Certificate, Registration, or Licence in the appropriate medical speciality.Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential – MBBD MD or equivalentAppropriate speciality qualifications such as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent is essentialMust have a proven track record of excellence in aged care with a demonstrated commitment to continued improvement, teamwork and ideally researchMust have a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to education of themselves, their colleagues, junior staff, other team members and medical studentsMust have a demonstrated commitment to organisational quality processes and other activities that improve patient careSolid knowledge of aged care with skills to manage complex patientsPrevious experience in the gerontology area.How to apply:Applications are through the PDH website and must include:A letter which tells us who you are and why you should be our next team member.A resume outlining your education, experience and work-related achievements.
