About the TeamThe Sales Lab Org incubates Doordash’s highest priority bets, testing them and building out the go-to-market plan.
We are the innovation engine of DD, and operate similar to a Venture Capital Firm. Teams pitch their products to us, we decide to ‘invest’ via resourcing, and we build these products to ‘IPO’ i.e. launch to our scaled org and be blockbuster products.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for working with our Merchants to help shape the future of our products. This includes:
Talking to Merchants and either conducting product discovery (i.e. determine what Merchants want from a specific Product, or what pain points they are working through), or conducting a net new/nascent sales cycle to determine what resonates with a Merchant and what needs to be true for us to scale a product successfully. This includes creating and iterating the pitch, trialing pricing models to see what resonates, documenting product features and understanding what problems we need to solve for our Merchants to inform and influence the product roadmap.
Collating and analyzing the learnings found - the team works out of google sheets primarily, and will cut and present the data in a variety of ways to tell the Merchants story and provide compelling data backed recommendations to inform strategy (including pricing, product features / roadmap / pitch framing etc).
Building documentation for scaled launches / GTM readiness. The team will build out playbooks for our scaled teams that provide an overview of what was tested, the iterations / pivots made providing pricing strategy, conversation roadmaps, recommendations for the future version of this product etc.
Traveling to be in the field with Mxs to conduct Mx discovery, sell, onboard, troubleshoot etc.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
Will be working with our SMBs to bring them onto new products
Be at the forefront of Doordash’s innovation and big bets
Will help inform strategy, product and scale
You will be working cross functionally across multiple teams, and will work on these 0-1 initiatives from 6 months - 18 months (typically)
Will be uncovering what our Merchants want every day, and translating these into asks / strategy for the business
Building the playbook for how we sell
We’re excited about you because…
You have a strong sales and discovery background (5 years outside sales experience)
You are proficient in Google Sheets/Docs, forms, reporting and tracking, reading data/ graphs/charts, Salesforce reports & dashboards
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
CRM system knowledge (SFDC)
Are a best in class problem solving, process and playbook creation
