The Purchasing Agent plays a pivotal role in supporting procurement operations by managing purchasing activities and supplier relationships. This position is essential for ensuring timely procurement of goods and services to meet company needs efficiently.Duties and Responsibilities:Execute purchase orders, manage requisitions, and oversee the procurement process for various goods and services.Maintain relationships with suppliers, including performance evaluations and collaboration on quality improvement and cost management initiatives.Monitor inventory levels and participate in stock planning to optimize availability and minimize shortages.Track and manage purchase orders, handle exceptions such as delays, and ensure timely receipt of goods.Evaluate supplier performance metrics, address quality issues, and escalate concerns as necessary.Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to trade compliance regulations and maintain accurate procurement records and reports.Support cost reduction efforts through supplier negotiations and inventory control strategies.Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Engineering, Production, and Quality Assurance to align purchasing strategies with production schedules and quality standards.Assist in new product development projects by providing sourcing insights and vendor capabilities.Skills and Abilities:Preferred 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management toolsAbility to interpret data and make informed decisions to support purchasing objectives.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.Attention to detail in managing procurement processes and ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment.Proactive in identifying issues and suggesting solutions to optimize procurement operations.
