Operations Manager

Hiring Range: Minimum $ 73,382.00 to Mid $ 91,727.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the "member benefit-based approach".
  • Fully complies with the requirements of all Credit Union policies, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies.
  • Responsible for the employee selection, orientation, training, counseling, disciplining, performance evaluation, promotion and salary administration, and termination of employees under his/her supervision.
  • Receives Credit Union members in person and by telephone; determines nature of the member's business and either transacts the business or refers it to a suitable staff member.
  • Determines and implements the most efficient and effective procedures for new products and existing operations.
  • Organizes and oversees all Operations projects, such as conversions, software enhancements, deposit changes, FedLine, Check 21, Credit/Debit Card programs, Instant Payments, etc.
  • Works with employees on special projects or problems to strengthen their operational and analytical skills.
  • Ensures cross training for all operations personnel to ensure staff is adequately trained to cover all situations.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise up to 11 employees in the Operations Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Email /Calendar and Internet software. Experience with Symitar, PSCU, Profit Stars, First Data systems preferred.

Regularly required to stand; use hands or fingers, touch or feel and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to Fifty pounds. Regularly required to listen and interpret information received through spoken words and sentences in person and by the phone and accessed via the computer. Regularly required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand both in person, on the phone and via the computer. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
