We are currently hiring a Workforce Development Manager. The
Workforce Development Manager
is responsible for seeing clients through the last 5 months of the RWA program as well as maintaining contact with their graduate caseload for 12 months after graduation.
Teaching & CoachingCareer Success Strategies Instructor
Coordinates class rosters with various departmentsMaintains student/participant case notes in the database, records program data, and other statistical records as needed, including, but not limited to:
Daily and weekly attendance tracking
Facilitate CSS (Career Success Strategies) class
Meet regularly with an assigned caseload of trainees to deliver one-on-one coaching in:
Resume PreparationInterview preparation and practiceDifficult questions and employment gapsOngoing job search efforts
Job Development
Conduct extensive outreach to potential employers to market trainees and increase the pool of employers, increase job bank listings, and develop new job ordersMaintain regular contact with employers to monitor employment satisfaction and to suggest accommodation of requirements for hard-to-fill positionsMaintain up-to-date records on employer outreach efforts for tracking and follow-upGraduate Follow-up
Provide comprehensive graduate case management for a caseload of approximately 30 trainees including chart documentation, individual sessions, and group facilitationProvide service coordination and referrals to meet Doe Fund Graduate needs, both internal to The Doe Fund as well as external if necessaryMonitor and provide support to maximize retention outcomes related to employment, housing, and sobrietyAssist in the development of career advancement opportunitiesAdministrative
CSS Curriculum Maintenance (in conjunction with department leadership)
Remains current in all CSS curricula and teaching techniquesConducts a bi-annual review of all CSS Curricula
Data Management
Ensure that WFD data is being updated/entered correctly in spreadsheets and the Client Tracking Database (CTDB)
WFD Contact hoursJob Search (CTDB)CSS (Attendance Spreadsheet & CTDB)Direct vs. Indirect in CTDBEmployment & HousingMilestones & Retention30-day waiting list and earning supplement listAny other data to be entered into spreadsheets and CTDB as necessary
Pull CTDB reports monthly and ensure all CSS attendance and data is correct and up to dateCD/GS data admin point person to work in conjunction with Workforce Development Research and Data Analysis Associate along with Associate Director of Workforce Development
Facilitates monthly Workforce Development orientations as neededAid in facilitating monthly mock interviewing evenings with corporate partners in conjunction with the Director of Workforce DevelopmentPerforms other duties related to the goals of the Workforce Development department as assignedSupervisory
Supervision
Helps supervise and train Workforce Development InstructorsConducts weekly supervision with each position above
Qualifications:
Commitment to The Doe Fund's mission, purpose, and valuesBachelor's degree requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience teaching adults in non-traditional settings or workforce development-related workExceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet demanding deadlines within a fast-paced environmentExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skills and the proven ability to synthesize and accurately present relevant information requiredExcellent analytical and interpersonal skills"Out of the box" thinking is crucialAbility to adapt to and work effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals and groupsHigh energy level and enthusiasm for the positionMust have the ability to work both independently and in a team settingMust possess and exhibit a level of confidence in themselves and his/her work, but be able to take direction and criticism professionallyAbility to achieve results and complete assignments promptly utilizing Google platforms and Microsoft Office programsMust be able to teach 2 evenings per week from 6-8 PMMust be willing to travel to all residential facilities (Bushwick, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Harlem)
