Your Qualifications:Four-year degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field.Ten years of related procurement experience including a minimum of five years in a supervisory role is required.A professional certification in procurement/supply chain management (C.P.M., CPSM) is preferred.Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, purchasing systems (SAP and/or other ERP software), manufacturing operations, and strategic sourcing.Excellent working knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, Management Systems, Operational Routines and Procedures.Ability to build strong integrated teams while fostering the professional and personal development of team members is an absolute must.Must be a self-starter with strong skills in team leadership, data analysis, and problem-solving.Ability to lead negotiations and manage communications with Gerdau's suppliers is required.Must have the ability to function both effectively and independently as a member of a cross-functional team.High ethical standards, leadership, and a strong work ethic are also key attributes.Ability to travel to complete job duties and maintain effective relationships with Suppliers, Mill Personnel, and Regional & Central Procurement, 10 - 20% will be required.
Your Purpose
:You will report to the Director of Procurement and be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the downstream procurement processes within the organization. This includes Supplier Performance Management, eProcurement, and the Invoice & Payment processes. You will also be responsible for the Contractor Category for all Mills. You will be responsible for strategic planning, supplier management, contract execution, supplier negotiation, and ensuring efficient and timely procurement of goods and services. You will collaborate with various teams to understand their needs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement best practices to streamline procurement operations.You will identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in the procurement process to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensure internal stakeholders are properly trained on Procurement Policies/Guidelines and compliance processes are in place. Lead the Supplier Performance Process by improving the quality and on-time delivery of the supply base. You will be responsible for incorporating sustainability principles in respective sourcing parameters and in the management of suppliers as a way to promote sustainable development.DIMENSIONS
:Locations Supported: Mills and other business division operations.Commodities Supported: Indirect Materials and ServicesLeadership Responsibility: 3+ direct reports (primarily Procurement Managers with site responsibility - total organization of 25+)Your Work:Strategic Planning:Lead the development and implementation of strategic procurement plans, aligned with organizational objectives.Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and technological advancements to continuously improve downstream procurement operations.
Supplier Management:
Oversee the process to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability for area of responsibility.Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.Implement processes that effectively monitor supplier performance and treat non-conformances.
Cost Negotiation and Reduction for responsible area:
Analyze pricing and market trends to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.Collaborate with finance and other departments to ensure budget compliance. Particularly for CAPEX Projects less than $500K.
Process Optimization:
Streamline and optimize the purchasing process for efficiency and effectiveness.Implement procurement software and tools to enhance automation and tracking.Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures. Also ensure stakeholders our properly trained.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with various departments, such as finance, operations, and engineering, to understand their procurement needs.Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement activities for responsible area.Develop and implement contingency plans to address disruptions in the supply chain.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and assess procurement performance.Generate regular reports for management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.Stay informed about changes in regulations affecting procurement and adjust practices accordingly.
