Corporate Controller

Compensation: $180,000 - $250,000 + Bonus

Location:

Irvine, CA (4 days onsite

Company Description:

Our FinTech client is looking for a Corporate Controller who will work with key business leaders on the company's day-to-day financial activities. You will be responsible for ensuring monthly financial statements are complete, accurate and in compliance with GAAP. Their ideal candidate has an eye for process improvement, a CPA license, and a Master's Degree/MBA.

Responsibilities:Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP.Direct all aspects of accounting operations, including execution of operational accounting policy, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, international accounting, revenue recognition, and other accounting activities.Serve as the technical accounting expert and trusted advisor to senior management maintaining current knowledge of GAAP, relevant regulations and industry trends providing guidance, planning and direction related to all accounting matters.Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.Interact with operational departments to gather all relevant financial data to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting.Prepare monthly financial reporting package and variance analysis.Communicate with key business leaders and play an active role in the monthly actuals vs. budget review meetings.Own relationships with accounting consultants, external auditors, and tax advisors; manage annual audits and handle all tax-related workstreams.Work closely with the Strategic Planning team and assist in the forecast and budgeting process.Identify process improvement opportunities and lead process improvement efforts to increase accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of month end close.Collaborate with other departments to ensure that accounting information is accurate and timely.Contribute to departments and Company on special projects.Manage, develop, and mentor the accounting team members.Requirements:

Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degreeCPA or Public Accounting experience required.5+ years accounting experience within an inventory-based industryThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and resultsCapacity to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
