Overview:

Directs and manages the accounting operations, including the production of internal and external financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and ensuring accuracy of reported financial results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Controller collaborates with employees at all levels within the organization, must be able to maintain professional working relationships, and provide excellent internal and external customer service.Responsibilities:Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budgetOversees the daily operations of the accounting departmentEffectively prepare, manage, and report internal and external financial reports and analysesTranslates complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance personnelDirects, coordinates, and maintains the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements of the organization in accordance with GAAPEstablishes and implements financial policies, practices, and procedures for Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC) in accordance with GAAPManages the data integrity and functionality of accounting and payroll information systemsCoordinates expenditure programs to coincide with forecasted cash flowDirects and coordinates annual audits with external auditorsOversees the general ledger, cash management, accounts payable and receivables, payroll, fixed assets and internal control policies and proceduresParticipates with the senior executive team in preparing financial presentations for the board of directors, stakeholders, and/or partnersEstablishes and implements policies & procedures and consults with senior management regarding recommended improvements and participates in establishing and implementing departmental goals and objectivesEnsures accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and LSCC policies and proceduresRecruits, trains, supervise, and evaluates the accounting personnel for optimal performanceEstablishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with LSCC personnel, departments, and managementAccountable for establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with vendors, external auditors, and regulators and professional trade groupsAssist the Chief Financial Officer and VP of Finance in managing the financial activities of the organizationAll other duties as assignedQualifications:REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:Bachelors Degree in Accounting or FinanceCertified Public Accountant (CPA) licenseFive (5) or more years of high-level accounting experiencePREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fieldFive (5)+ years of previous accounting and/or financial management experienceThree (3) or more years of supervisory experiencePrevious healthcare experience
