**Description**
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester (URMC) School of Medicine & Dentistry, in Rochester, NY, is currently recruiting for a surgical pathologist; we are interested in candidates with a focus on Breast/GYN. Successful applicants must be board-eligible in anatomic pathology by the American Board of Pathology and be eligible for a medical license in the State of New York.
The Department provides a very wide range of services, currently accessioning over 75,000 surgical/biopsy cases per year. More than 35 anatomic pathologists participate in a fully subspecialized sign out model.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in a program in applied, translational, or basic research. The Medical Center has a highly collegial environment. There are multiple opportunities for collaborative research and for the development of clinical initiatives through interactions with Medical Center faculty.
Opportunities for teaching are ample: we have an ACGME-accredited subspecialty fellowship position in cytology and non-ACGME-accredited subspecialty fellowship positions in surgical pathology, in addition to rotating pathology residents and medical students.
With more than one million people in the metropolitan area, Rochester, NY offers all the cultural, recreational, and educational amenities of a large city, but with nearby open spaces and lakes providing options for lifestyles from urban to rural, all with easy commutes.

**Qualifications**
Candidates must have completed medical school having an MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent as well as a Breast/GYN
Fellowship Program and be board certified/eligible for NYS license. Candidates would join the faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commensurate with the candidate's experience.
