About the Role:

The Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the procurement processes for Baily Foods International. Based out of Granite City, this role will oversee the Purchasing function for three plants: Granite City, National City, and Waycross, GA. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and ensuring a reliable supply of quality ingredients and materials to meet the company's production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Purchasing Strategies:Design and implement effective purchasing strategies that align with company goals and objectives.Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.

Supplier Management:Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery schedules.

Cost Management:Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.Develop and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.

Quality Assurance:Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that all purchased products meet the company's quality standards.Address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or supplier performance promptly.

Inventory Management:Collaborate with the Inventory and Production teams to manage inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials.Implement efficient inventory management practices to minimize waste and reduce costs.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the food industry.Experience in purchasing meat preferred.Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
