Position SummaryThis position reports to the Waste Reduction Supervisor. WRS-Driver 2 will operate CDL-Required and Non-CDL Required waste collection vehicles, including rolloff cable and hook hoist, front end loader, rear loader, 15-yd dumpster rolloff hook lift, box truck, low speed vehicles, pickup truck, and truck with trailer. This role performs or assists in performing predetermined daily collections routes and waste management operations as assigned by the Operations Lead and Waste Reduction Supervisor to transport and deliver landfill, recyclable, organic, and specialty materials. In addition to daily assignments, this role provides waste management collection service for seasonal and special events and activities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Drivers License in good standing.CDL- Class B or higher.Good safety record and knowledge of the hazards involved in equipment operation and the safety precautions necessary.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Demands
Walk, stoop, bend, squat, lift, climb stairs, sit, and stand throughout an 8 hour shift.Lift up to 75 lbs.Exposure to potential workplace hazards such as sharp object or hazardous materials.Sitting in potentially bumpy, vibrating and/or loud vehicles.Drive larger commercial vehicles on crowded campus setting.
