Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

Job Details

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drafts legal pleadings, notices of hearings, motions, and orders.
  • Researches and analyzes statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes, and the like.
  • Updates case management system in a timely manner to ensure data integrity.
  • Travels to court for court appearances and visits client sites as necessary.

Day-to-day:

  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, internal staff, and others to ensure effective case management.
  • Identify legal issues/items that require additional review.
  • Establish a strong follow-up system to ensure deadlines are met for various pleadings that must be served and filed.
  • Prioritize and manage a high volume of files with great accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attend both routine and litigation hearings, as well as settlement conferences, oral arguments, and other court appearances as necessary.
  • Manage your own caseload with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review casework prepared by paralegals and correct it as necessary.

Qualifications

  • J.D from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active and in good standing in New Jersey with additional admissions a plus
  • Litigation skills including pleading, motion practice, discovery
  • Experience in entering time and working in a case management system preferred.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate with other attorneys, staff and clients.
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal skills, and able to positively interact and collaborate with clients and employees at all levels.
  • Must be flexible, self-directed, and motivated.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and Word
