The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (URSMD) seeks an experienced and exceptional academic leader to serve as the Chief of Pediatric Urology.
This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational leader who is passionate about furthering academic and clinical pediatric urology within an institution that prizes academics and teaching. The Department is offering a very generous package of financial and research support including protected time for academic activity. The Chief will lead the growth of academic & scholarly activities, while inspiring innovation that is supported by high quality clinical service.
Leading with a collaborative approach, the Chief will have experience working in a complex academic environment. The successful candidate will be an outstanding specialist and respected academic leader in pediatric urology with a record of accomplishment.
The Division of three experienced Pediatric faculty, practices principally out of the state-of-the-art Golisano Children's Hospital (GCH) and Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH). GCH is a high-performing children's hospital with 148 beds, providing full range of pediatric care. This eight-story, $145 million facility is a part of SMH, which is the 846-bed Magnet-designated flagship hospital of UR Medicine, which consists of a total of 6 hospital affiliates. SMH has a great reputation and has consistently earned top honors in the U.S. News & World Report and is the main practice location of the Department of Urology.
The Department, which includes the Division of Pediatric Urology, has 30 clinical and research faculty who provide exemplary care, perform cutting-edge research, and train the next generation of urologists.
Qualifications
MD, MD/PhD or DO from an accredited institution with board certification in Urology and Pediatric Urology
Eligible for licensure in New York.
Candidates must possess qualifications for appointment as Associate Professor in the URSMD
