Description

The Department of Pediatrics and Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong is seeking a pediatric hospitalist to join its growing division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Hospitalists will provide inpatient-based care to pediatric general medical patients, including children with medical complexity, who are cared for by our dedicated inpatient Pediatric Hospital Medicine Complex Care Service. Hospitalists will also provide consultations and co-management of medical and surgical sub-specialty and psychiatric pediatric patients. The Division also has a newly established Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship (2020) with one fellow per year.

The University of Rochester, Department of Pediatrics, is nationally/ internationally recognized

for its contributions to community pediatrics, pediatric basic and clinical research with global implications for child health, and its outstanding residency program. With the construction (2016) of an 8-story new facility, the Children’s Hospital has become the quaternary pediatric hospital of choice in upstate New York.

Qualifications

Candidates must be BC/BE in General Pediatrics. Successful candidates will have outstanding clinical accomplishments and commitment to Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Preference will be given to candidates who are BC/BE in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, have post-residency inpatient clinical experience and have completed either a pediatric hospital medicine or general academic pediatric fellowship. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

Minimum Education Requirements: Medical Degree, completion of 3-year pediatric or 4-year medicine-pediatric residency training program.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience, and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
