TravelDepartment: Labor and Delivery | RN *Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN intermediate or advanced.* - # L&D Beds: 7 - # OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 1 - # Triage beds: 2 - # Postpartum beds: 7 - # Births per day? Month? Year?: 255 annually. - Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: Yes - Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN intermediate or advanced. - Common diagnoses: Labor, Preeclampsia, HTN. Obesity, Gestational Diabetes, Preterm labor (GA 32 weeks/1500 grams- anything less will be transferred). Baby can be on oxygen for 6 hours, if not improving or needing more support, they will be transferred out. - Experience: Yes, LDRP, ideal if has both set of skills. But L&D is a must have. OR circulates and recovers, we stabilize baby and do couplet care post recovery. Also we care for clean Gyne such as hysterectomy’s (vaginal/abdominal). One year of experience. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable: Pitocin and Insulin. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: We have a Rounder/Charge nurse who takes a full assignment but lesser acuity. - Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit: 2 day shift unit secretaries/CNA’s who primarily do clerical work and helping hands on the unit and phlebotomy. - OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7: OB Hospitalists - all stay in house except one. Peds – no. One full time local OB that doesn't stay but he is within 5 minutes of the hospital. - Anesthesia in house 24/7: M-F day shift yes, other times no but will be here in less than 30 minutes. - RT Equipment: Yes, will attend if complications. - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: If we have Tele needs we have remote monitor capabilities and tech from the Tele unit read the strips. Our nurses do not. - EFM System: OBIX - Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours shifts, days and nights. We are a self-staffed unit so there is extra call required to cover intermittent LOA’s and vacations. A scheduling committee made up of unit staff make the schedule with leadership approval. - Weekend Requirements: Every other to every third weekend. - Holiday Requirements: Half of the holidays switching every year. - Is there a call or standby requirement: Yes, if there is LOA or vacations are broken down. Equates to 1-2 12 hour shifts per 6 week period. Can be broken up in 4 hour blocks. 30 Minutes call back time. - Floating Requirements: Not unless there is a critical need- would float to MS as helping hands/sitter. Would not take a full patient assignment. - Scrub Color: Hospital provided scrubs, water proof non slip shoes. - Department specific orientation: Yes, up to 3 shiftsGenie Healthcare Job ID #772397.
