Job Details:

We are searching for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our publicly traded manufacturing company. This is a unique opportunity to take charge of the financial health of our company by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a particular focus on the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will report directly to the CFO and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth and success. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON-SITE IN WOODBURY, NY AND TRAVEL TO ANOTHER STATE FOR TRAINING AND IDEALLY MONTHLY TO VISIT MANUFACTURING SITE.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.

  1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
  7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. SEC reporting
  8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  10. Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry and will be able to navigate the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  2. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation is preferred.
  3. 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the manufacturing sector.
  4. Proven working experience as a Financial controller in a publicly-traded company. Must have SEC financial reporting expeirnce
  5. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  6. Experience with creating financial statements.
  7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  8. Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  9. Advanced degree in Accounting.
  10. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  11. Strong communication and leadership skills.
  12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
