JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Associate II will report to the Assistant HR Manager and will also support the HR Manager and the HR department as a whole. This role involves collaborating as a team to effectively fulfill recruitment needs and contribute to the overall HR function. This position is responsible for performing a variety of general human resource tasks related to the recruitment, retention and processing of documentation related to these functional areas of Human Resources and other related duties as required and as assigned by the Assistant Human Resources Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Establish and maintain confidence and effective collaboration with the Human Resources team and KCAO employees. Identifies inefficiencies and provides process improvement recommendations to the Human Resources Manager and Assistant Human Resources Manager.Consistently act as an active member of the HR Team with a positive impact.Responsible for recruitment and pre-hire efforts regarding employment, which may include internships and volunteers.Responsible for following policy regarding recruitment, interviewing and hiring processes.Assist with the development and maintenance of effective social media strategies as it relates to recruitment and employee communication.Promote social media presence as an HR tool for recruitment efforts.Coordinate with Marketing and Outreach staff, and others as applicable, to complement organizational social media efforts and strategies.May assist with termination and exit interview processes.May assist with Onboarding new hires, as needed.Create, track and process Personnel Action Forms (PA's) for new hires, and may assist with processing a variety of other PA's as requested.Maintain Applicant Tracking and Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from databases as needed.Assist with maintaining other records, reports, and logs pertaining to applicant flow procedures and volunteer data for analysis, grant reporting, may assist with tracking background checks for staff and volunteers.Attend recruitment and outreach fairs to attract talent for open and future employees, intern and volunteer positions. Utilize marketing and advertising techniques to reach target markets for open recruitment.Perform general clerical duties, such as answering the phone, maintaining files, completing reports, performing limited typing or related duties.Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma (or equivalent)

AND

at least two years' experience in human resources, with at least one year assisting in or performing full cycle recruitment for employees and/or volunteers.OR

Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business administration, or related field;

ANDOne year of human resources experience, with at least one year assisting in or performing full cycle recruitment for employees and/or volunteers.AND

Must be well versed in California and applicable federal employment law and practices, as well as possess an understanding of industry trends, current practices, and new developments.SHRM-CP, PHR, or PHR-CA certification is preferred.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Travel and attend out of area meetings and conferences as required per the funding source(s).Work variable hours and days, including those outside regular Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours.Meet and maintain KCAO employment requirements which include:

Criminal Record Clearance through the California Department of Justice, FBI and Child Abuse Centralized Index (CACI).Reliable, insured transportation and valid California Driver License.Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) acceptable to KCAO's vehicle insurer.Health examination with tuberculin clearance.

Ability to be contacted outside of regularly scheduled work hours in case of emergency
