Job-Specific Expectations
- Assist with annual physical inventory count.
- Upon request, assist in examining and updating physical and electronic inventory control systems.
- Perform daily and weekly physical cycle counts.
- Monitor accuracy levels as directed by the inventory control manager.
- Maintain current and precise inventory records.
- Establish and implement inventory control procedures for all departments.
- Work with the inventory control manager to resolve inventory issues.
- In conjunction with the inventory control manager, work to maintain sufficient stock volume on hand to meet the demand and maintain appropriate inventory turn ratios.
- Examine inventory valuation, reports on slow mover and non-mover items as well as monthly sales to support the projection of inventory needs and to adequately meet demands while maintaining good inventory turn ratios.
- In collaboration with department managers throughout the dealership, explore strategies for eliminating slow-moving and non-moving merchandise.
- Collaborate with department managers in sales, service, parts, and accessories to develop inventory expectations and meet purchasing needs.
- Considering organizational philosophy and inventory cycles, help provide for sufficient inventory of products and materials.
- Assist the inventory manager in balancing the inventory between carrying costs and service, sales, and parts and accessories demands.
