JOB DESCRIPTION
Servers create and maintain an atmosphere of anticipatory service, ensuring exceptional experiences for all members and guests. You are an ambassador for Camel Club with every interaction. Live and share your passion for genuine hospitality in your commitment to enriching lives.
Primary responsibilities include serving food and beverage items, clearing courses, monitoring satisfaction, anticipating needs and resetting or moving/rearranging tables as needed. You prepare stations for service and inspect of all areas for cleanliness and correctness. Maintain complete and current knowledge of menu items, preparation methods, ingredients, purveyors, presentation and theory. Knowledge of glassware, beverage options, table/seat/station numbers, proper table sets, hours of operation and dress code.
Servers display effective communication, member recognition and answer questions regarding Camel Club. You work closely with Chefs, Sommeliers, Managers and Directors to execute a smooth and seamless service. Additionally, you may be called upon to assist in training new team members when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follow all Camel Club policies and procedures, including standards for quality, timing, payment processing, attendance and appearance.
- Follow all Camel Club safety protocols, including appropriate use of chemicals, Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Data Sheets.
- Thoroughly check work and public areas for tidiness, general maintenance and ensuring all are corrected/reported immediately.
- Maintain knowledge of Camel Club services and offerings.
- Help resolve service issues in a timely and positive way, following up as needed.
- Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership.
- Daily operation of all F&B spaces.
- Assist with special cleaning projects.
- Attend daily Staff Meetings / Group Meetings / Development Meetings.
- Responsible for preparing the Dining Room for operations and service.
- Executing the setup of dining spaces by moving tables and chairs to achieve necessary table configurations.
- Vacuuming spaces to ensure continued cleanliness.
- Setting tables according to standards.
- Polishing glassware and silverware.
- Crumbing chairs.
- Maintenance and cleanliness of equipment and common spaces.
- Performing routine deep-cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Maintaining “the look” of the space.
- Lifting and carrying chairs, tables and other equipment during setup; trays up to 28 lbs. and furniture up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding menu and food terminology.
- Attentive to all Team Members, assisting all positions as necessary.
- Knowledge of all menus offered.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Previous service experience in a similar role or fine dining is preferred.
- Must be at least 20 years of age (Kentucky law requires that one must be over the age of 20 to dispense or serve alcoholic beverages).
- Kentucky Food Handlers Certificate or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Aptitude and ability to use a restaurant Point of Sale (POS) system successfully and accurately.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, team members and managers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Knowledge and understanding of property management cashiering procedures.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, stand, sit, balance, reach, stretch, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods.
