Location: Edwin O. Smith High School E.O. Smith high school is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and thoughtful individual who can contribute to our school's diversity through their teaching, scholarship, and/or service to the institution.
The Special Services Department is comprised of 46 full-time teaching and related services staff. The new licensed practical nurse will provide one-to-one nursing support to students in our district.
SPECIAL SERVICES
QUALIFICATIONS
Holds a valid LPN license from the State Department of Health Services to practice professional nursing Possess the ability to relate to children with special needs. Possess qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with all stakeholders. Certification in CPR and First Aid.
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures Follows medical/emergency protocols and training Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid Conducts student health assessments Implements health care plans and oversees medical charts Collaborates with families, school nurses, and school staff Communicates with parents and staff regarding health needs Provides consultation in educational settings regarding school health needs Administer medications within the scope of District policies and state and federal laws. Assist with the instructional needs of students as needed
SALARY:
LPN $27 per hour; RN $35 per hour
